I Protect Children Luncheon

Please come and support the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Mississippi™ on May 15, 2024 for the annual I Protect Children Luncheon. The purpose of this great organization is to defeat child abuse throughout the state and ensure that child advocacy center services are available for every child victimized by felony child abuse. Our mission is to revalorize Mississippi's response to child abuse through leadership, innovation and education. Last year, the eleven local child advocacy centers provided services for 8,271 children that were offered hope, healing, and justice by Mississippi child abuse professionals. Children’s Advocacy Centers of Mississippi™ is responsible for coordinating the child advocacy model response within our state.

The child advocacy model supports a coordinated effort for a child to relate his or her experience one time, in one place, rather than being shuttled between police, counselors, and child advocates. A local child advocacy center provides a comfortable, child-friendly setting in which a child can feel safe telling what has happened to them. Coordination of multidisciplinary teams within each community complements the work of the child advocacy center through the goal of a coordinated response that reduces the burden of a child abuse case and helps facilitate recovery by the child victim.
